Scottish Natural Heritage [SNH] has responded to the story of the potential golf course project on the Ardfin estate on the Isle of Jura being abandoned because of their objections.
They say: ‘We met with the estate’s consultants last week and made it clear to them that, from our perspective, we don’t foresee any problems with their proposals.
‘We stated that we were impressed with some of the work they have done to ensure the golf course respects the special qualities of the Jura National Scenic Area.
‘We have agreed to have a further meeting with the estate in early January to discuss any perceived problems.’
This is clear and unequivocal information which leaves no room for doubt as to SNH’s attitude to the proposed development. They clearly were being unfairly blamed for being obstructive where the reality of their attitude was the opposite.
It would seem that there is absolutely no reason why this welcome development should not go ahead.
